Updating A Small School’s Online Presence
Challenge: All Children Academics (ACA) approached KRC in late January 2014 with an ambitious project that required meticulous planning. This small school – the only private special education school in the Bay Area – needed to revitalize its online presence on a very tight schedule. The school’s director wanted to completely overhaul the school’s static and dated old website, and she needed a short promotional video about the school to share with prospective parents. The main challenge here was one of timing- we had one short month (February!) to conceptualize, message, produce and launch a new promotional video and a new website before the school’s director had to give two important presentations where she wanted to unveil them.
Approach: KRC has a long history of doing the impossible for our clients- particularly when it comes to short-turn around projects. Many of our clients have dubbed us their “miracle workers” for a reason – we consistently turn around substantive projects in very short periods of time. As with every project we work on, we managed a detailed project timeline for ACA that mapped out the specific work to be completed by all parties, which took us from the initial exploratory meeting with the school’s director through to the official launch of their new video and website. From organizing and managing two ½ day photo and video shoots, to developing a video script and designing, building and copyediting a new WordPress website, the KRC team worked closely with our client to accomplish their goals in the short time frame we were given.
Results: The KRC team delivered a completely transformed online presence for our client on time and on budget. The school’s director unveiled ACA’s new three-minute video and 24-page WordPress website on schedule to rave reviews.
